GETTING
AROUND PHUKET
When
you arrive at Phuket Airport, the tour buses will take charter guests to their
hotel destinations.
For other travellers there are two options: the minibus
and limousine service at the ground floor entrance.
Minibuses are basically
150 Baht (to Patong), limousines around 650 Baht. Tuk Tuks are not allowed to
pick up guests at the airport, as transport is monopolized by Thai Airways.
When
heading back to the airport travel agencies supply minibuses and limousines to
the airport by the hour. Basically the same price range as coming from the Airport.
Travel around Phuket is as convenient as in Bangkok. You can hire Tuk Tuks to
go around the island. The fare depends on the distance.Local buses and 'Songthaew',
a pickup with two rows of seats for passengers, have regular schedules and destinations.
Near Wong Wien Nam Phu at Ranong road, there is Songthaew a terminal with service
to beaches and other places every 30 minutes.
